If you ever have to board a dog, even if it is only for a day or two, exercise extreme caution. Boarding dogs in the wrong place can be a tragedy waiting to happen. You see dog kennels range from being first-class to dreadfully bad. State-control and licensing is not very tight, and the dog kennels can basically get away with anything behind closed doors. I’m not sure what happened to my puppy, but I can tell you that he was shivering for over a week after I got her back from the kennel. Whatever it was shocked her something terribly, and it took him a long time to recover from the ordeal. Dog owners have a responsibility to look after their pets, and that means not leaving it in dangerous situations.
