Top 5 American Rivers To Visit
Colorado River
Beginning in the Rocky Mountains of northern Colorado, it moves southwest, ending in the Gulf of California. It is 1,450 miles in length and over the centuries formed numerous canyons along its winding path. The Colorado River covers a lot of ground on its way to the sea. There are many great areas to visit to get a view of the river and the landscape that it has created. Add human interaction to control the river through a series of dams, and you have some spectacular recreational areas and resources never before known in the desert. The Arches National Park near Moab, Utah is a great starting point to explore the Colorado River. The Arches National Park is famous for its 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the well-known Delicate Arch. The Colorado River partially forms the southern border of the park, and then goes through Canyonlands National Park, which is a colorful landscape eroded into countless canyons, mesas and buttes.
