Why Do You Want to Read Music?

Have you always desired to play the piano or guitar or amaze everyone at a karaoke night? Maybe you have longed to understand the world of music, how to read those strange markings on sheet music, or how to recreate a song from the information given to you.

Your first job is to learn how to read sheet music. While not an impossible task, it is essential to understanding the written musical map. You will need to learn about musical notes, the treble clef and bass clef, the staf they sit upon, the wonderful variety of musical scales, and all the popular beats, from rock to country.Of course, if wowing the record companies or being on star search is your goal, you will have other things to master as well.

Learning how to read sheet music will get you started. A good local teacher can help you with improving your voice and breathing techniques. A qualified voice teacher can also prepare you for auditions and vocal try-outs. Regardless of your final goals, the starting place is still learning to understand how notes are placed to convey not only pitch sounds but the rhythm intended to be in the music as well.

You can enjoy music privately or perform publicly with a few lessons learned online, from manuals, or from a personal teacher. Either way, the money and time will be worth it.
