Starting Off Right with Pre Marriage Counseling
Scott Stanley conducted a survey of more then 3,000 homes in four states and published the results in the March 2006 issue of the Journal of Family Psychology. This survey concluded that couples who met with marriage family counselors were 31% less likely to need a Sacramento divorce lawyer than couples who did not attend counseling. They also reported higher marital satisfaction, lower marital discourse, and far greater commitment.
