Direct Thermal Labels Are A Less Costly Option For Short Term Uses

Direct thermal labels are used in direct thermal printing, which is one of two types of thermal printing.

Both printing methods use the thermal printhead to apply heat to the surface being printed on, but direct thermal printing does not use a thermal ribbon, which is used in thermal transfer printing.

Text, graphics and bar code can be printed on your direct thermal labels.

Problem with this method is that its image is crisp for six months or maybe a year. After that the image fades and the paper becomes gray.

Still, there are some applications where this is good enough and may be the option to choose as itis less costly.

For a more permanent label, it is best to choose to go with thermal transfer labels.
