Herb Gardening
Herb gardening is a wonderful activity that can be enjoyed by all the family. It’s cheap, good fun and has dozens of health, medicinal and culinary benefits. You’d be foolish NOT to do it!
You need a few containers and a sunny location – a patio is ideal but herbs can be grown indoors on window ledges as well.
I’m growing several varieties of mint, basil, coriander, thyme, chives, parsley and rosemary (my favourite!). The beauty of all this is that many of my plants were swapped with a friend so they didn’t actually cost me anything to buy.
The nice thing about having a herb garden is that many of the herbs are perennials and will come back year after year. In fact, some herbs (like my spearmint) are hard to stop growing and will take over your entire garden if given half a chance.
Annual herbs include dill, basil and parsley and are ideal planted in containers and pots.
It’s never too late to get started!
